Tommy is a 1977 VW Westfalia Bay, the very legend of free spirit travelling. He doesn’t have the comfort of a hotel or even a modern camper, but all for the better. If less is more, Tommy has it all.
Travel the island, discover amazing places and sleep on the beach with the powerful ocean next to you. Let the legend live on!

Welcome inside Tommy is the king of shabby chic with his warm rustic feel and there are many winks to the hippies that made this van legendary.
For two travellers - Two belted front seats
One double sofa bed - For a good night's sleep or an afternoon nap in the shade
Pop-up roof - The classic Westfalia feature for full standing height and an airy feel
Kitchenette - With a gas stove, a sink and a fridge for your cool drinks
Camping table and two chairs
50 liter fresh water tank - For washing the dishes or yourself
50 liter grey water tank - Keep the island clean and leave nothing behind!
Outdoor shower - Wash off the salt
USB sockets - For charging your phone, tablet, computer or drone
Options - Roof bed: The top bed is upon request since it's fixed and does not allow for standing height in the van. We recommend just the lower bed. - WC: A chemical toilet with all necessary products and paper for your independence.
Tenerife You will also get access to our interactive map with our personal favourites, accessible from any device. Where to sleep, eat, drink, surf, hike, chill, drop your yaw and more - far beyond the tourist traps.
We think of Tenerife as Treasure Island. The beaches, misty mountains and mystic forests are right out of an adventure book. Add an almost Martian desert, timeless villages, vibrant cities and a South American vibe and you have Europe’s most diverse destination. Luckily for us vintage van enthusiasts it’s also small enough to explore at a slow island pace.
Conditions
Minimum age 24 years old with minimum 2 years of driving licence.
Tommy is a old van and can't go everywhere on a mountainous island like Tenerife. His use is limited to beach hopping the south of the island, which is where our best spots are, anyway. Specifically, he can go between Los Gigantes in the northwest to Las Teresitas beach in the northeast, and in altitude up to the roads TF-82 and TF-28.
Delivery will take place in Los Cristianos. Unfortunately we don't have the possibility to offer a transfer or delivery elsewhere.
An old van is not easy to drive and needs good care. We will do a test drive and you need to be able to drive it well before taking off.
We will sign a regular rent-a-car contract when you check in. A basic road insurance is included.
Tommy will meet you with a full tank of GASOLINE (95/98) and you return him the same way.
He will also have a full fresh water tank. Please fill it up and empty the grey water before returning (see our map for good places).
In case of mechanical breakdown we will reimburse the remaining days.
It's a good idea to pack soft bags, since there is little space for hard suitcases onboard.
Please take care of our baby. We are custodians of a heritage and would like to see our vehicles around for another 40 years. Travel slow, take in the moment, don’t go off-roading and just use common sense. Let the adventure begin!

We've been to Tenerife a few times, so now we wanted to come just to have a short adventure with a vintage camper. We first wanted to rent Wendy, but it was already booked so Monia was nice to rent Tommy to us. The car was just as described, tricky to drive but so eye-catching. We drove around south, avoided crowded hours (since 2nd gear was a bit hard to find). For hot weather it's not a problem to take the shower outside, but we didn't use soap. Personally I wished for a chemical toilet, since not so many restaurants are open in the morning. Otherwise, it's a nice experience to have such a small home with you everywhere you want to go. Tommy and Wendy have so much value being so old and in working condition. It's a MUST experience in a lifetime and Tenerife is such a perfect place that combines beaches and nature.

It was love at first sight with Tommy! He is the coziest stay we could have imagined for our trip around the island and one week was the perfect time to discover the best spots to stay. He looks even more gorgeous in real life than in the pictures if that is possible!
Tommy is an old, but really reliable car, and after some time we got used to the driving very fast. It is helpful to plan enough time for the driving itself, take stops and don't rush, especially because of all the fans he collects on the way :) Monia and Dahn are such sweet people and made us feel comfortable from the start. They have a lot of tips for the best stays and handed over Tommy perfectly, so we felt prepared for our trip. They have put a lot of love into the interior, this is what you can feel right away.
I hope so much we can come back some time, thank you Monia & Dahn for this awesome time with Tommy!

Malgré une petite panne (mais c'est un véhicule ancien donc nous savions qu'il ne fallait pas s'attendre à la même stabilité qu'une voiture neuve) ils se sont montré extrêmement réactifs et disponible pour nous aider .
notre séjour a été superbe et Tommy nous a permis de découvrir Tenerife autrement , loins des lieux très touristiques et au contact de la nature .
Merci encore pour cette belle expérience et a très vite !

Esperienza INCREDIBILE. Prima vacanza con la mia compagna e prima volta su di un Van. E decidiamo di prendere uno dei Van più belli che Tenerife può offrirti. Ottimo per qualità prezzo. Con lui non passarete di certo inosservati. Un po' complicato parcheggiare in retro ma solo perché sono abituato ad una Smart ma quando vi sveglierete con la finestra aperta con vista sull'oceano tutti gli sforzi saranno ripagati. I proprietari sono super ospitali e vi consiglieranno per farvi passare un esperienza indimenticabile.
